Proteins in solution are subject to Brownian motion, and their heterogeneous surfaces and intricate 3D structures can change radically in response to environmental changes. To identify aggregates at extremely low concentrations (<0.01%) and characterize them by size, we use dynamic light scattering (DLS). We can determine the full particle size distribution to aid in a foundational understanding of aggregation state in your colloidal biopharmaceuticals.
Our core competency, however, is in the analysis of protein aggregates by molecular weight determination with light scattering and viscometry.
